FTI Consulting has welcomed a new senior practitioner to its Cybersecurity practice in the Middle East.
Appointed a Managing Director, Chris Murphy brings more than 15 years of cybersecurity experience to the global consulting firm encompassing various domains, ranging from strategic implementation to technical projects and critical national security initiatives.
Now at FTI Consulting, Murphy (who is based in Dubai) helps clients with solutions across the cybersecurity landscape, from strengthening defences, and threat identification, to supporting a holistic response to crises, and rebuilding operations and reputation after an incident.
Prior to joining FTI Consulting, Murphy served as an associate partner at IBM Consulting in its Security practice. Managing a diverse portfolio of clients on a global scale, he was accountable for over 200 cybersecurity projects across 30 countries.
Notably, Murphy was involved with integrating cybersecurity measures into one of the largest Covid-19 response systems worldwide. He also oversaw the security of some of the world’s largest investment funds, in addition to helping establish two successful cybersecurity practices from the ground up.
Earlier in his career, Murphy worked for Deloitte’s UK and Ireland division, where he among others held key positions such as the cyber leader for the sports business group and private sector group. He also occupied several cybersecurity leadership roles at EY’s UK and Ireland division, working with clients across sectors.
Chris Murphy holds a bachelor in Computer System Networking and Telecommunication from the University of Central Lancashire and a master’s in Software and Systems Security from the University of Oxford. He is am Amazon Web Services Certified Cloud Practitioner and a Microsoft Azure Fundamentals Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP), as well as a Certified Cloud Security Professional (CCSP).
