Global management consulting firm Oliver Wyman has appointed a record-number of new partners worldwide, with Dominik Böhler the sole Dutch inclusion.

Böhler has been with Oliver Wyman his entire career, joining the firm in Germany a decade ago. In 2016, Böhler transferred to the Amsterdam office where he is a member of the Retail and Consumer Goods practice.

The freshly appointed partner helps clients with improving their commercial performance and operations, leveraging tech-heavy transformations and solutions.

Also affiliated with Oliver Wyman’s Digital practice, Böhler leads multi-disciplinary teams (management consulting, design and software engineering) that provide an end-to-end delivery to clients.

Recent examples of his work include helping a grocery retail client with improving its customer value proposition through upgrading their commercial capabilities. “We helped the client from strategy and organisations to tooling, analytics all the way to execution.”

In another engagement, he helped a supermarket group with adopting state-of-the-art analytics solutions across assortment, pricing and promotions in order to gain more visibility on performance and profitability.

“I love how tangible the results of my work are. I can just go to my neighbourhood supermarket to see how our work is influencing what people buy in the Netherlands every day.”

Beyond his client work, Böhler plays an active role in developing and coaching younger colleagues. “This career can be very demanding so it is great to see someone grow — personally and professionally — and make their way through the different levels. Playing my part in that as a mentor or sponsor is one of the many things I enjoy about working at Oliver Wyman.”
