Yasmeen Muhtaseb has hit her second career milestone at EY this year, with her promotion to Chief Operations Officer for the MENA region coming shortly after reaching Silver jubilee status.

Fresh out of university in Canada, Yasmeen Muhtaseb kickstarted her career at EY 25 years ago – and has never left since. Rising the ranks in the firm’s Consulting business, Muhtaseb became a partner in 2012.

In recent years, she held several various leadership roles in the MENA business, most recently acting as Deputy Leader of Consulting. She also served as an advisor on global, area, and regional governing bodies.

Per the 1st of July, Muhtaseb has been elevated to Chief Operations Officer for MENA, a region she describes as the “most vibrant environment” in the global professional services sector.

“The MENA region is not only seeing an extraordinary level of financial investments being made by local and international organizations, but a commitment to elevating technology, efficiency, and talent. It is critical that leaders seize the opportunity to build enterprise resilience and reframe the future of their organizations. I am proud to lead EY’s efforts to continue to transform its business at speed while also putting our people at the center of all that we do.”

In her new role, Muhtaseb will oversee EY’s business operations and operationally lead a team of around 9,000 staff in circa 20 countries.

Alongside growth and client service, she will also focus on investing in the development of employees. “My 25-year journey with EY taught me the importance of adaptability and collaborative growth,” Muhtaseb said. “I am dedicated to fostering inclusivity and ensuring that our workforce reflects the diversity of the communities we serve.”
