Alpha FMC, a global financial services sector consulting firm, has launched a US insurance consulting practice led by executive director Britton Van Dalen.
Britton – who is based in New York has over 25 years of insurance consulting and industry experience – will be tasked with building out Alpha’s insurance practice, including creating a team of specialists and expanding service capabilities.
Alpha currently has insurance practices in the UK and France offering services in operational consulting, M&A, compliance and risk, digital, enterprise transformation, and ESG.
“Setting up Alpha’s Insurance Consulting business in the US and helping to establish the firm as the ‘go to’ consultancy in this industry is a hugely exciting opportunity,” Van Dalen said. “We have very ambitious plans to grow in the region and we look forward to mirroring what our colleagues have achieved in the UK and French markets, helping insurance clients with their complex transformation, technology, and change requirements.”
Van Dalen previously spent 17 years at Deloitte Consulting, where he was a principal and US underwriting transformation leader. In the role, he focused on automation and process design, predictive model business implementation, and underwriting future of work.
Before Deloitte, Van Dalen was an assistant VP at Marsh and a senior sales rep at Cigna.
He has an MBA from the University of Chicago and a bachelor’s degree from Vanderbilt University.
“Insurers all over the world are facing similar challenges of increasing regulation, digitalization and a tough economic backdrop and as such, we are launching in the US at just the right time. Britton will be instrumental in our strategy to position Alpha as the leading partner to help insurers with these complex requirements,” said Stuart McNulty, global head of insurance consulting at Alpha FMC.
Founded in 2003, Alpha provides business consulting services to asset management, wealth management, and insurance clients. The firm has worked with all of the world's top 20 and 80% of the world's top 50 asset managers by AUM.
Alpha has more than 900 employees across 16 offices in North America, Europe, and Asia-Pacific. The firm has US offices in New York, Boston, Denver, and San Francisco.
Alpha earlier this month announced the acquisition of Lionpoint Group, a New York-based management consultancy serving asset managers with 100+ employees globally.
