Deloitte has welcomed two new partners to its partnership in Sydney and Melbourne, and promoted existing partners to new national leadership roles.
Professional services firm Deloitte has recruited Cognizant vice president Tessa Schofield to its partnership team in Melbourne, while Daniel Nott returns to the firm as a partner after a twenty-year absence.
Internally, Deloitte’s Tech sector lead Bec McConnochie has now been given additional responsibility for the TMT portfolio, with Energy & Chemicals leader Bernadette Cullinane having earlier taken on the Energy, Resources & Industrials lead role.
Tessa Schofield has joined Deloitte as a core business operations partner in Melbourne after the past two years spent as vice president and Australian technology lead at Cognizant, during which time she also served as acting CEO for the consultancy’s New Zealand business.
Schofield brings three decades of experience to the firm, including stints as a technology partner at PwC and managing director at Accenture, where she altogether spent 25 years between Australia, Asia and the United Kingdom.
Commenting on the appointment, Deloitte Consulting national managing partner Ellen Derrick said, “Tessa’s deep experience in operational management, utilising innovative and diverse technologies, and defining organisational growth strategies, will strengthen Deloitte’s technology advisory and complex cloud transformation capabilities. I look forward to seeing the value and impact that Tessa will deliver for our clients, from implementation through to operate.”
After first spending two and a half years at Deloitte in between 2001 and 2003, forensics expert Daniel Nott has made his return, rejoining as a partner within the Treasury & Capital Markets team, based out of Sydney. Nott crosses after the past nine years at the Commonwealth Bank, most recently as Head of Forensics, with earlier stints at Axiom, Ferrier Hodgson, and KPMG in London. He started out as a cadet at PKF.
“I am thrilled to have returned to my professional services roots and to have been warmly welcomed at Deloitte,” Nott stated in a post to LinkedIn. “I can’t quite believe it was almost nine years at the CBA in a role I loved, having had the opportunity to build and lead the Forensics business. It was a privilege to work with so many talented colleagues. I feel very lucky to be able to continue to do the work that makes an impact, now with Deloitte for a much wider set of clients.”
Meanwhile, Deloitte Consulting partner Bec McConnochie has taken on responsibility for the firm’s Telecommunications, Media and Technology business in addition to her Tech sector lead role, which she has performed since joining from Accenture in the middle of last year. A celebrated digital executive, McConnochie spent altogether more than two decades at Accenture from graduation, including as comms, media and tech lead for A/NZ.
A Deloitte partner and energy & chemicals leader since 2016, after likewise joining from a managing director position at Accenture, Bernadette Cullinane has also recently stepped into a new role, that of Energy, Resources & Industrials industry lead for Australia.
Cullinane originally joined Accenture in Houston in 2007, before crossing to the firm’s Perth office where she served as management consulting lead. She earlier spent five years at Arthur Andersen, after joining from ExxonMobil.
