Deloitte’s artificial intelligence lead partner Kellie Nuttall (a self-described AI-cheerleader) has taken over as the firm’s new head of Strategy and Business Design.
A prominent AI enthusiast, Kellie Nuttall has been with Deloitte for a little over a decade, and takes over from Giselle Hodgson who now serves as Chief Operations Officer of Deloitte Consulting COO. Her personal announcement on LinkedIn coincided with Deloitte’s launch of a new global Generative AI practice.
“With AI being at the forefront of innovation and shaping the future of many industries, I am obviously pumped about the opportunity to help Australian businesses and government leverage AI technologies in their business strategies to drive their next wave of digital transformation and unlock growth,” Nuttall said.

A doctorate-holder in the psychology of consumer decision making, Nuttall joined Deloitte in 2012 from the Queensland Department of Transport and Main Roads, and was shortly after appointed as the firm’s national leader for analytics and AI, while also serving as Future of Mobility and Queensland performance lead. She was later given responsibility for Deloitte’s AI research institute upon its launch in Australia in 2021.
Now she takes over as head of Deloitte’s Strategy and Business Design practice, which sits within Monitor Deloitte and supports clients with creating new, sustainable value through enterprise-wide business transformations based on innovative strategy, deep industry insights, and disruptive technologies. The practice also houses a venture design and launch unit, helping companies to bring new capabilities to market.
Meanwhile, Deloitte itself has just brought a new offering to market, with the launch of a global Generative AI practice aimed at supporting clients in adopting the revolutionary technology to enhance productivity and accelerate innovation from planning through to operationalisation. Deloitte’s new practice is backed by a trio of recent acquisitions, including SFL Scientific and Australia-based machine learning specialist Intellify.
