US-based international agile and technology consultancy Cprime has acquired local player Elabor8, adding 140 professionals in a deal that will expand both party’s presence across the Asia Pacific.

Australian business consultancy Elabor8 has been picked up by US-headquartered multinational agile and tech consultancy Cprime, marking the latter’s entry into the Asia Pacific via a team of 140 professionals.

The deal follows Elabor8’s recent push to expand internationally, and will allow both parties to increase their presence and capabilities across the region to better serve global clients. “We are thrilled to join forces with Cprime and what it means for our clients,” said Paul Velonis, chief executive at Elabor8.

“Becoming part of a global consultancy like Cprime allows us to provide a comprehensive international strategy for our clients as we support them in becoming more responsive to their markets, customers, and competitive changes. This is an exciting opportunity for both companies that will allow us to combine our experience and expertise.”

Founded by Velonis in Melbourne in 2009 alongside directors Nam Huynh and Andrew Blain, Elabor8 quickly established itself in the market with six consecutive appearances on the Australian Financial Review’s Fast 100 list of the nation’s fastest growing start-ups. Since its establishment, the firm has grown to include further Australian offices in Sydney, Brisbane and Canberra, alongside international outlets in the UK, Asia and New Zealand.

An agile expert, Elabor8 works in the areas of organisational design, innovation, and digital transformations, with a client roster including many of Australia’s most prominent organisations, including Woolworths, Qantas, Officeworks, Transport for NSW, and the University of Melbourne.

With Velonis and Huynh remaining at the helm as CEO and COO, the firm will continue to serve its current clients under the Elabor8 banner.

“Elabor8 brings a world-class team of professionals with the same level of focus and dedication to delivering client success that we strive for every day at Cprime,” said recently appointed CEO Zubin Irani. “Elabor8 has an outstanding reputation in Australia and the Asia Pacific region and we are thrilled to have them join our team to provide our clients with cutting-edge solutions that safeguard their competitive edge in the market.”

Backed by Goldman Sachs and Everstone, Cprime specialises in agile and DevOps solutions, serving clients across a wide range of industries on digital transformations, product, cloud, and technology. Established in San Francisco in 2003 with offices now spanning the US, Canada, UK and Europe, the consultancy is an Atlassian Platinum partner, with multiple global partner of the year awards under its belt for agile solutions.
