Big Four firm PwC has bolstered its Salesforce capabilities in ANZ with the acquisition of Be Intelligent, adding a team of around 20 consultants to its footprint across Aotearoa.

The acquisition enhances PwC’s capabilities across the Salesforce services lifecycle, from advisory and system build through to implementation and managed services.

Founded in 2018, Be Intelligent provides its services to private and public sector organisations across New Zealand, with a focus on clients in the healthcare, life sciences, social services, energy, utilities and financial services sectors.

Rob Fisher, Lead Partner for Transformation at PwC New Zealand, said that Be Intelligent brings a highly complementary offering to the firm in terms of Salesforce strengths, geographical reach and industry specialisations.

While Be Intelligent’s team is particularly strong in Salesforce’s Core, Marketing Cloud, and Automation stack, PwC’s team is strong in experience design, Salesforce solution development, and infrastructure. Meanwhile, where PwC’s practice is largely based in Wellington, Be Intelligent covers Auckland and Christchurch. Post-deal, PwC’s Salesforce practice now has a team of 40 staff with broad national coverage.

In addition, Be Intelligent is a licensed Salesforce reseller, meaning that PwC has now adopted this status – in a first for the firm in Asia Pacific.

Fisher: “This acquisition strongly aligns with our technology alliances strategy, while adding new capabilities, capacity and clients. Together, we’ll support our clients to build trust and deliver sustained outcomes by reimagining their customer experience.”

The combined Salesforce practice will be co-led by existing PwC partner Jeff Casey and freshly appointed partner Mikal Todd, the founder of Be Intelligent.

“It was important for us to align with an organisation that shared similar aspirations, and the new practice has a values-led culture committed to making a positive impact for our clients,” said Todd.

In related news, Australian Salesforce consultancy Tquila was earlier this month acquired by Publicis Sapient, one of the world’s larger digital transformation companies. For PwC, the deal is its first in Australia and New Zealand since February last year.
