International procurement and supply chain consultancy Efficio has launched a new office in Portugal, its 1st in the Southern European country and 14th worldwide.
The move into Portugal is according Efficio’s CEO and co-founder, Jens Pedersen, part of the firm’s strategy to grow into one of the world’s leading companies for procurement consultancy and technology services.
Efficio charted its current growth strategy two years ago, when its management team re-acquired a minority stake from Livingbridge. During the five-year collaboration with the private equity investor, Efficio more than doubled its turnover and headcount, and since the buy-back, the firm has continued its growth to reach its current size of 750 staff globally.
“Expanding into Portugal is in line with our strategy to double in size every three to four years,” said Pedersen. “We look forward to growing our Portuguese team over the coming years.”
Having launched with a small core team, recruitment for additional talent is well underway, with several roles open on platforms such as Google Jobs and LinkedIn.
Enticing candidates to join the Lisbon office, one of the job vacancies states, “Procurement and supply chains present some of the biggest challenges facing businesses today – helping our clients get this right is what makes us tick. Join us in delivering real transformation across a huge breadth of industries and get an experience like no other with a friendly team who will challenge and inspire you.”
“With Efficio, you will enjoy the benefits of working with an established management consultancy that still maintains its entrepreneurial spirit and close-knit community. We’re proud of our company culture – collaborative, dynamic, down to earth, and fiercely international. Our teams devote the time to connect, learn, and socialise across project teams and offices globally.”
Wolfgang Rueth, an 18-year company veteran who oversees the new Lisbon office, remarked: “I am thrilled to help building our new Lisbon team. We intend to build a strong Portuguese team to support our client projects globally.”
The Lisbon location takes the global office count of the London-headquartered group to 14 across Europe, North America, and the Middle East.
