Oliver Wyman has appointed Middle East based Souheil Moukaddem as the new global leader of its Cyber Risk platform.
In the role, Moukaddem oversees Oliver Wyman’s team of cyber and risk experts in 30 countries around the world, and will coordinate the firm’s collaboration in the domain with other Marsh McLennan subsidiaries, including Marsh, Mercer, and Guy Carpenter.
The Lebanese-origin consultant has been with Oliver Wyman since mid-2022, and brings 30+ years of experience in strategy and management consulting to the role, with extensive expertise in the cyber domain. During his career, Souheil has helped dozens of private and public sector clients with the design and implementation of cybersecurity programs.
“We are delighted that Souheil will add his 30+ years of experience to helping corral the best of our firm’s capabilities to meet our clients’ most important cyber challenges and opportunities,” says Michael Zeltkevic, the Global Head of Capabilities at Oliver Wyman.
Moukaddem, who originally is from Lebanon but spent his business career between the Middle East (Beirut, Dubai, Abu Dhabi, Amman), Europe (Paris) and the United States (Washington DC), said on this new role: “The question is no longer whether entities and individuals will get hacked, it is a matter of when they will get hacked, and how they will respond.”
“Cyber risk is a dynamic and fast-moving domain, which in turn requires smart, responsive action – Oliver Wyman and the wider Marsh McLennan group has the breadth and depth of expertise to deliver the right solutions.”
Oliver Wyman’s offering spans cyber strategy and threats, resilience, business processes optimisation, cyber analytics, human capital, and human behaviour. Mercer meanwhile specialises in the human capital side of cyber change, while Marsh ensures the group’s clients have the right risk governance in place, backed by a cyber insurance framework. “We apply a holistic approachto the cyber risk challenge.”
In addition to his global role, Moukaddem is a partner in Oliver Wyman’s Communications, Media and Technology practice across the Middle East, India and Africa region and a member of the firm’s Executive Management Committee for the region.
Prior to joining Oliver Wyman, Moukaddem was Executive Vice President and Managing Director of Booz Allen Hamilton’s Middle East and North Africa business, which was acquired by Oliver Wyman in 2022. Before that, he held the role of Chief Strategy Officer at a private equity firm, and worked for Bain & Company and Booz Allen Hamilton in its pre-split era.
