Abu Dhabi-based G42 Cloud has welcomed a consulting major to its partnership ranks, sealing a deal with KPMG’s Lower Gulf division.
Incepted in 2018, G42 Cloud is the GCC’s largest sovereign cloud provider – billing itself as a homegrown alternative to cloud giants including US-origin AWS, Google, and Microsoft, and German or Chinese rivals SAP and Alibaba.
Leveraging the wider technology ecosystem of its parent G42 (a 2,500-strong technology group), G42 provides public and private sector organisations with a secure (ISO certified) and scalable cloud platform, as well as a range of maintenance and managed services solutions.
The partnership with KPMG Lower Gulf, which has around 1,800 staff across the UAE and Oman, focuses both on synergies in business development and implementation work.
“Transitioning to the cloud is a critical aspect of digital transformation,” said Emilio Pera, CEO of KPMG Lower Gulf. “But while organisations have a defined cloud strategy, many struggle to unlock its full potential. Outdated systems and legacy architecture are still a major obstacle.”
This is where KPMG and G42 Cloud come in. Across its vast network of clients, KPMG will now add G42 Cloud’s offering into its advisory mix. “We are keen to reach a wider network through a mutually beneficial partnership with KPMG,” said a delighted Talal M. Al Kaissi, the CEO of G42 Cloud.
Meanwhile, once G42 Cloud has been selected as a cloud partner of choice, KPMG will serve as a preferred consulting and implementation partner. The award-winning cloud practice of KPMG will combine its technology capabilities with change management expertise to ensure G42 Cloud’s platform is implemented, and embedded within joint client organisations.
“KPMG and G42 Cloud have the combined industry insight, technologies and established expertise to manage cloud-based solutions. Together we can improve the business proposition and digital landscape of our joint clients,” said Pera.
