Maria Tsennykh has joined HKA, a global risk and disputes consultancy, as a New York-based principal in the forensic accounting and commercial damages (FACD) practice.

She brings nearly two decades of professional experience with a focus on forensic investigations in various industries. Tsennykh has expertise in commercial damages, intellectual property, fraud investigations, US Foreign Corrupt Practices Act (FCPA) monitorships, and local and global dispute services projects. She has completed engagements across the United States, Europe, and Central Asia.

Tsennykh joins HKA from CliftonLarsonAllen, where she spent the past year as a principal. Before that, she spent a year as a managing director at Weaver.

Tsennykh also previously spent four years at FTI Consulting, where she was a senior director. Earlier in her career, Tsennykh spent 11 years at PwC, initially at the Moscow office, before transferring to the New York office in 2011.She has a PhD and master’s degree in economics from Plekhanov Russian University of Economics and is a fellow of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA) in the UK.

HKA earlier this month announced the addition of four professionals to its claims consulting practice in Seattle.
