The Middle East organisation of Deloitte has launched a new think tank dedicated to developing future-oriented solutions for governments.
Part of a global initiative to operate at the forefront of major economic, social and technological changes unfolding in global markets, Deloitte hosts several ‘Future of…’ think tanks across its member firms in 100+ countries – all geared at a specific industry or topic.
Inspired by the successful ‘Future of Government’ think tanks hosted by Deloitte’s member firms in the United States and the United Kingdom (among others), the Middle East team is now setting up a similar operation.
“Our new think tank aims to support governments in the Middle East to channel their vision into practical pathways and solutions to improve the lives of their citizens,” said Muhannad Tayem, Government & Public Services Leader at Deloitte in the Middle East.
“This in turn requires developing new ways of working, to re-imagine how processes and policies need to evolve with the accelerating rate of technological advancement,” he added.
In particular the latter topic – technology as an enabler of advanced citizen services – will play a central role in Deloitte’s think tank, explained partner Faisal Darras. “Our government clients want to lead the way on the latest technology and innovations that make a difference to their citizen’s lives. At Deloitte we look to provide solutions that enable government entities to extract the maximum value from the emerging technologies and their cloud computing capabilities.”
In delivering on its stated objectives, Deloitte’s ‘Future of Government’ centre will bring together capabilities from across the firm to provide an integral offering. This include strategy, operations, design and citizen-led thinking, service delivery, operations, finance, procurement, technology, regulation, workforce, and more.
“Our think tank will help governments pioneer innovation and adopt new ways of working to continually innovate and stay ahead,” Tayem said.
Other ‘Future of…’ think tanks hosted by Deloitte include ‘Future of Health’, ‘Future of Mobility’, ‘Future of Food’, ‘Future of Sustainability’, and ‘Future of Energy’.
With over 415,000 employees, Deloitte is one of the largest professional services firms in the world, and the largest of the Big Four cohort.
