AlixPartners, the global consulting firm, announced today that Esther Liesenberg joins as Partner & Managing Director in the Retail & Consumer practice, based in Düsseldorf.

Esther's professional career reflects an impressive range of expertise in management consulting and operational experience from leadership roles at leading consumer brands. She started her career as Marketing Director for Nike and later L'Oréal. Over many years, Esther has advised clients strategically and operationally. As Interim Chief Marketing Officer, she also has had responsibility for clients in turnaround situations, including branded companies, fashion and sporting goods retailers, and direct sales companies. Her focus was on extensive transformations to digital business models and the sustainable implementation of cost reduction and reorganization programs.

Esther joins from STRATEGY&, where she was part of the Retail & Consumer leadership team. In her role, she implemented consumer-centric strategic transformations as well as value creation programs in an M&A context. Her client portfolio from the Beauty, Food, Consumer Health industries includes leading Consumer Brands, as well as D2C/Social Brands, Retailers and PE clients. Her consulting focus is on growth strategies, product and channel portfolio, customer-centric organization, operational efficiency improvement, as well as pre- and post-deal value creation. Her passion for strategic business development coupled with operational execution expertise makes her an outstanding leader.

Esther gained experience abroad, among other things, through exchange programs at Handelshögskolan Gothenburg, Sweden, and at the Universitè Paris Dauphine as part of her business administration degree, which she received from WHU Otto Beisheim School of Management.
