Energy trading expert Russ Meyer has joined Capco’s energy practice as a Dallas-based partner.
In his new role at the management consultancy, Meyer will lead the commodity trading and risk management offering.
He brings more than 20 years of energy industry experience in trading and risk management, with expertise across strategic planning, risk advisory, and digital transformation. Meyer brings deep relationships in domestic and international energy markets to Capco, where he will help grow the firm’s global energy consulting services.
“With his energy trading background, wealth of industry knowledge, valuable industry relationships, strong reputation, and proven track record of delivering solutions of value, he will be an invaluable asset to our team and clients solving problems related to commodity trading position visibility and analytics, P&L reporting, solution advisory, and TRM selection and implementation,” Lance McAnelly, managing partner of Capco Texas, said.
Meyer joins Capco from Lucido, a provider of software for commodity trade and risk management, where he spent two years and was SVP of energy solutions. In the role, he built and led a team of energy trading and risk management consultants.
Before that, Meyer spent a year as a managing director at automation software firm Ion, where he headed a professional services group in the energy space.
Earlier in his career, Meyer spent over 15 years at commodity management software firm Allegro (acquired by Ion in 2019), where he held roles in solutions consulting, project leadership, and product management.
Meyer has a bachelor’s degree in business from Northwestern State University.
“I look forward to working with the amazing team here, and I am thankful for all the opportunities that lead me to this point in my career!” Meyer said in a LinkedIn post.
Headquartered in London, Capco provides management and technology consulting services to financial services and energy clients across the globe. The 5,000-person firm was last year acquired by India-based IT consultancy Wipro.
