Teneo has brought in corporate and investment banking senior Ghassan Nassief to lead and grow its financial advisory practice in Saudi Arabia.

Over the past two decades, Nassief has held senior roles in leading financial institutions across the Gulf region, including at Swicorp, Emirates Islamic Bank, Saudi Hollandi Bank, Bank Albilad, SABB, and Banque Saudi Fransi.

His track record includes advising corporate clients on debt restructuring, project finance, working capital requirements, trade finance and mergers & acquisitions.

Most recently at Swicorp, Nassief served as head of business development and placement. Among his recent notable achievements includes leading the development of a $1 billion pipeline for a newly launched GCC-wide business line, securing a $500 million loan for a Riyadh-based group, and leading numerous financial debt restructuring transactions for large companies in Saudi Arabia.

During his career, Nassief also held several C-level operational roles, including at companies in financial distress.

“Ghassan brings a wealth of experience and strategic relationships to the firm and is an excellent addition to our team,” said Matthew Wilde, a Senior Managing Director in Teneo’s regional Financial Advisory practice. “We’ve always been committed to hiring the best talents the Kingdom has to offer and creating an environment that enables their growth.

Appointed a Managing Director (effective 9 May 2022), Nassief will focus on providing Teneo’s full suite of financial advisory services – spanning capital finance, transactions, restructuring, insolvency and litigation services – to clients including corporates, banks, giga-projects, and government-related entities.

“With Ghassan heading up our Saudi financial advisory business, we’re further positioned to broaden our full offering in the market,” said Nicholas McDonagh, Senior Managing Director and Teneo’s regional head.

Founded in 2011, Teneo is a global consulting firm with 1,500 professionals across 38 offices. The firm launched in the Middle East a year after its inception, and currently has nearly 100 people working from offices in Riyadh, Doha, and Dubai.

Commenting on his new challenge, Nassief said: “There are few countries with a roadmap for development as ambitious and transformative as the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia under the Vision 2030. I’m thrilled to join Teneo, a uniquely capable firm, and to expand our integrated offering in the Kingdom.”
