Global professional services firm Deloitte has completed the inaugural edition of its Middle East Technology Fast 50 competition, revealing the region’s fastest growing and most promising start-ups in the world of technology.
Launched in 1995 in North America, Deloitte’s Technology Fast 50 competition has over the years established itself as one of the most recognized growth competitions for tech-oriented start-ups and scale-ups.
Today, the competition is organised in 50+ markets including the United States, the United Kingdom, France and Germany, with the Middle East joining the fold this year for the very first time.
Similar to the global program, the regional edition of the Technology Fast 50 recognizes fastest-growing technology companies based on revenue growth over the last four years. The competition also places the spotlights on ‘companies to watch’ – young start-ups (<4 years in operation) that don’t qualify for the Technology Fast 50 list but have enjoyed an exceptional growth trajectory.
“By launching the program in the region, we aim to strengthen the region’s technology ecosystem by celebrating and supporting business growth, innovation and entrepreneurship,” explained Emmanuel Durou, Partner and Technology, Media & Telecommunications leader for Deloitte in the Middle East.
After analyzing a longlist of start-ups and scale-ups that entered the competition, Deloitte trimmed down the list to a group of 18 winners.
