Deloitte has announced a number of new appointments to its UK Executive, whose skills and experience will help the firm continue to deliver growth while investing for the future through skills, innovation and digital adoption.

Appointed by Senior Partner and CEO Richard Houston, who was recently re-elected in his role until 2027, each member of the UK Executive takes responsibility for leading an area of the firm’s operations and strategy, alongside client delivery and people development.

The following appointments will be effective from 1 February 2023 unless stated otherwise.

  • Cindy Chan will become the Managing Partner Risk Advisory. Cindy is currently the Financial Services Leader for Risk Advisory and has been with the firm for 30 years. She is also a member of Deloitte’s UK Oversight Board, which oversees how Deloitte meets its regulatory and legal responsibilities.

  • Rob Cullen will take on the role of Managing Partner Consulting. Rob first joined the firm’s Consulting practice in 1998 and is currently the lead partner for Deloitte’s enterprise technology practice, which, following the 2020 acquisition of Keytree, became the UK’s largest SAP-enabled transformation practice.

  • Philip Mills has been named UK Managing Partner, effective 1 June 2023, succeeding Stephen Griggs who will be retiring next year. Philip joined the firm 20 years ago and for the last three years has been Global Tax & Legal Leader.

  • Charindra Pathiwille will become the new Managing Partner Financial Advisory. Charindra is currently Head of London Transaction Services in Financial Advisory and has been with the firm since 2002.

  • Nick Turner has been appointed as Managing Partner Growth. In this new role, Nick will be responsible for setting and delivering on the firm’s UK Growth strategy. He will also lead on Deloitte’s strategic advisory services, innovation and all industry and client programmes, including brand.

  • Finally, Duncan Farrow-Smith has been appointed to a newly-created role of Chief Strategy Officer. The CSO role will focus on how the firm adapts to issues such as the economy, geopolitics and the competitive landscape.

Houston added: “I would like to congratulate Cindy, Rob, Philip, Charindra, Nick and Duncan on their new roles. I and the rest of the Executive look forward to working with this next generation of leaders so that we can continue the great progress we have already made in embedding purpose in all our decision-making and succeed as a business in the years ahead.

“As reflected in our recent financial results announcement, our firm is in a strong position and this is down to the excellent leadership and focus of our previous Executive team. I would like to thank Richard Bell, Pauline Biddle, Stephen Griggs, Anne-Marie Malley and Andy Morris for all their support and hard work in helping us achieve so much over the past few years.”

Deloitte’s new UK Executive will consist of 14 partners from across the firm and will comprise 29% women and 14% from an ethnic minority background.

The news comes after Deloitte Global recently selected Joe Ucuzoglu as the next CEO of Deloitte Global, succeeding Punit Renjen, who is retiring on 31 December 2022.
