The Lower Gulf division of KPMG has strengthened its partnership with a trio of new leaders: Abhisek Bhattacharya, Mohamed Aylouche and Vivek Seshadri.
All three have been promoted internally, with Seshadri a long-standing company member, while Bhattacharya and Aylouche relatively recent joiners who bring extensive experience in the professional services industry.
Abhisek Bhattacharyya brings over 20 years of experience to the partner team, including technology & business risk advisory, enterprise resource planning, governance, risk management and compliance management technology implementation and IT assurance. He joined KPMG in 2019 after a five-year stint with another Big Four firm in the Middle East, and before that he worked in professional services and with Oracle in India, Canada and the UK.
At KPMG, Bhattacharyya has been responsible for conceptualising and developing the firm’s technology-enabled external audit & audit analytics framework, using globally accepted methodologies in both the Lower Gulf and Saudi Levant member firms. Shortly before taking on the role as partner, he was appointed as Head of IT Audit for both firms – the largest of KPMG’s IT audit teams within the Middle East and South Asia region.
Bhattacharyya also heads the Lower Gulf firm’s IT Internal Audit and IT Attestation service offerings.
According to a note from KPMG Lower Gulf, Bhattacharyya’s appointment aligns with the firm’s innovation goals. He will spearhead the building of new capabilities in audit using cutting-edge technology.
Mohamed Aylouche first joined KPMG in the Saudi Levant office in January 2020, coming from another Big Four firm, where he worked for 22 years within the Assurance business across its offices in the US, Saudi Arabia and the UAE.
Throughout his career, Aylouche provided audit and other assurance services to companies in various sectors including hospitality, trading, manufacturing, services, logistics, real estate development, construction, pharmaceuticals, and education. He also played an active role in engaging with several universities in the US and UAE, spearheading recruitment and related activities.
In addition to client work, Aylouche is committed to the development of the firm’s staff.
Vivek Seshadri started his tenure with KPMG in 2008, and after a brief stint in industry, he re-joined KPMG in 2014. With a background in consulting, Seshadri has worked across the GCC on services ranging from strategy development, operating model design, technology-led process re-engineering and technology engagements. Vivek was the Chief of Staff for the KPMG Lower Gulf firm and has taken on the role of Chief Operations Officer for the Audit business.
Seshadri also focuses on further professionalising KPMG’s quality agenda, driving optimisation and improving efficiencies across key pillars of the Audit business.
