Consulting firm Alvarez & Marsal has hired Eric Dustman, a seasoned operations and supply chain expert, as a managing director in its corporate performance improvement practice. He will be based in Chicago.
Dustman brings more than 25 years of experience as an advisor and operator serving the industrials, technology, telecom, consumer products, and chemicals sectors. He specializes in helping clients improve margins, operational efficiency, and market performance, with expertise leading initiatives across the product portfolio, manufacturing sourcing, fulfilment, and services.
Dustman has led numerous supply chain transformations for clients, including a recent engagement at a global industrial firm that helped it reduce complexity by 20% and working capital by 30%.
“As post-pandemic realities emerge, the need for supply chain performance improvement and transformation will continue to grow,” said Cyndi Joiner, managing director and leader of A&M’s corporate performance improvement practice’s East region. “Executives across multiple sectors will face critical supply chain questions regarding business continuity, cyber security, quality, transparency, and ESG compliance. Eric’s experience, in alignment with A&M’s operational heritage and leadership, action, results approach, will help clients navigate their current and future supply chain pressure points.”
He joins Alvarez & Marsal from Strategy& (formerly Booz & Company), where he spent the last 13 years. He most recently served as a partner in the industrial products & services segment focusing on strategy and operations engagements. Before that, he spent eight years at Booz Allen Hamilton, where he was a principal focusing on operations engagements with manufactured products clients.
Earlier in his career, Dustman spent 11 years at Motorola, where he held increasingly senior roles in product engineering, quality and testing, and production management.
He holds an MBA from Northwestern University and a bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering from Michigan State University.
