Advancy is a French-origin consultancy focused on strategic work in three key industry verticals: business to consumer (consumer goods, retail, lifestyle), industrial products (chemicals and building materials), and entertainment (media entertainment, hospitality, travel). Since its inception in 1999, the firm has grown to a team of around 180 consultants across offices in Paris, London, New Delhi, Shanghai, Sydney, São Paulo, and Boston.

Benjamin Maupetit joined the consulting firm in 2009 in its Paris office and has since grown the ranks, appointed a partner in 2016 when he relocated to China to lead its domestic office, and now rises to senior partner level.

In China, Maupetit leads a team of around 30 consultants – mainly Chinese nationals with extensive international experience. Advancy launched its Shanghai operation in 2006.

The local offices mirror the firm’s global portfolio of services, advising clients on topics including growth strategy, market entry and joint ventures, business transformation, reorganisation, turnaround, supply chain management, operational excellence, and financial management.

Maupetit himself specialises in helping brands break into and grow in the Chinese market, with a focus on fast-moving consumer goods, food & beverages, retail, health & beauty and luxury fashion.

Earlier this month, Advancy bolstered its senior team in China with partner Xiaokun Hu. He previously served McKinsey & Company for fourteen years in China and Europe, specialising in the chemicals and industrials sectors.
