Chaucer Group, a digital transformation consulting firm based in London, New York and Houston has acquired Anagram Consulting, a London-based management consultancy. The deal is another step on Chaucer’s growth path.

Chaucer continues its successful expansion with another acquisition: Anagram Consulting joins the group with its consulting expertise spanning a large range of industries.

Chaucer has a 30-year track record of supporting private and public sector organisations through complex change programmes. Building on earlier success, a 2014 management buyout (MBO) led by CEO Chris Laslett saw the firm bring in external investment to help accelerate growth, both organically and via a campaign of acquisitions. Chaucer now has an enviable client portfolio across the energy, life sciences, public services, law enforcement, legal and manufacturing sectors and helps clients to become true digital enterprises, transforming their businesses through improved strategies, operating models and technology approaches.

Anagram, the London-based company founded in 2016, and still managed by founders Jeremy Milward and Ian Stuart, was created to help their client’s digital agenda. Anagram’s core offerings and focus is on Digital & Technology Strategy, Customer Transformation and Digital Product Development which will complement and enhance Chaucer’s digital advisory and delivery capability.

The acquisition of Anagram is a further step on Chaucer’s growth path which was accelerated in 2020, when Chaucer joined together with one of Europe’s leading advisory companies Bip to create a global advisory company with over €350 million revenue. Before that in 2019 Farnborough-based IT consultancy Virtrium Consulting joined Chaucer and most recently in December 2020 Chaucer extended its footprint in UK Central Government through the acquisition of Medley Business Solutions and is now able to offer an enhanced range of services to public sector organisations.

Jeremy Milward said: “We are extremely excited about integrating with Chaucer – not only do we believe that this will be a great place for our team to develop and grow but that the combination of Anagram’s digital & strategic advisory capabilities with Chaucer’s expertise and experience in digital transformation will lead to a truly differentiated offering for our clients and for the UK and US markets.”

Chris Laslett added: “Anagram is a great addition for the Chaucer family. I am looking forward to the value our combined businesses can bring to all our clients.
