Ankura has strengthened its Data & Technology wing in the Middle East with Michele Carriero.

Appointed a Senior Director, the Italian-origin professional brings around a decade of experience to the global consulting firm. Carriero is based Ankura’s Dubai office, one of its three locales in the Middle East alongside Abu Dhabi and Doha.

Carriero helps clients across various industries with data and compliance related challenges, specialising in leveraging emerging technologies such as artificial intelligence and advanced data analytics to advance the maturity of regulatory, financial performance and the overall IT Infrastructure. He also has extensive experience in forensic technology and the adoption of eDiscovery solutions.

“I am delighted to have joined Ankura in their Data & Technology practice. I am currently focussed on helping to design, develop and build exciting new propositions and offerings in data privacy, information governance, fintech, crypto and cyber security, leveraging Ankura’s artificial intelligence capabilities including machine learning and natural language processing,” stated Carriero in a LinkedIn post.

At Ankura, Carriero joins a number of former colleagues, including Paul Walker, Andrew Pimlott and Muthmainur Rahman, who crossed to Ankura from FTI Consulting in October this year. Carriero himself served FTI Consulting for three years in Dubai, and before that spent four years at EY in its Forensic Technology team in the London office.

“It’s also great to be working alongside industry leading experts such as Brian Stuart, Ryan Rubin, Tanya Gross, Simon Placks, Andrew Kennell (all based in Ankura’s London office), Amit Jaju (India), and Christopher Marks (Hong Kong).”
