Challenge:
Through our 20+ year established network in the consulting space, a contact moved to a new consulting firm and reached out to ask us to help him grow out his practice. We were then engaged to enhance the leadership team of this boutique HR, Change & Payroll firm by sourcing a Consulting Director specialized in Payroll Advisory. The client needed an expert who could support the growth of their payroll advisory offering, while integrating seamlessly with their existing team and culture.
Solution:
Through our comprehensive search and leveraging our "black book" of consulting contacts, we engaged with several high-calibre professionals who were not actively seeking new opportunities but were intrigued by the prospect of joining a dynamic boutique firm. After a rigorous vetting process, we presented a shortlist of candidates with the right blend of experience, strategic vision, and leadership skills. During the process, one candidate stood out due to their extensive experience in payroll advisory and their innovative approach to solving complex payroll challenges.
Results:
After a series of in-depth interviews and discussions, the candidate impressed the leadership team with their vision and the company turned him from being open to an exploratory conversation, to genuinely excited by the prospect of the role. After speaking with the founder as a final step, we worked closely with the leadership team and HR to advise them on how best to format their offer to make it competitive with the market. They were able to turn this around quickly and presented an offer on the day, which was in line with the candidates expectations and accepted within a short timeframe.
