Our client is one of the elite global strategy management consulting firms who have been on a rapid trajectory of growth over the last few years in the Private Equity (PE) space. They have even managed to grow through the pandemic and were looking to greatly expand their India offering.
Our network was strong with these candidates, but we needed to be reserved in our selection based on very high bar set by our client. There were numerous candidates that were great options, but they did not have the relevant buy-side and sell-side exposure meaning certain target consulting firms were simply not going to be suitable. As our client also work with all the top 10 PE firms in India then this potential target audience was also hands-off.
We focused our efforts on specific competitor firms and one candidate began to stand out who had performed well over the four-stage interview process. The candidate was clearly impressing with each interview as our client organised the next stages very swiftly with little delay in the process. This candidate came from a Consulting background lots of experience working with PE firms across commercial due diligence and value creation They also had an excellent academic record including a MBA from one of India’s top business schools.
After concluding the interview, a very competitive offer was put forward to our candidate. Consulting Point used their relationship with the candidate to assess progression routes within the business to give the candidate comfort that this was the right move for them. This involved helping the candidate request an offer at a higher grade to the initial offer from. After much deliberation, our client increased their offer to a higher grade and package.
