Strategic Gears has appointed three new partners in its Riyadh office, with Fatima Al-Mubarak, Ahmed Abzakh and Abdullah Al-Barqawi all promoted from within the firm’s internal ranks to associate partner level.

Fatima Al-Mubarak has over eleven years of experience in public policy and management, research and analytics, performance management, strategy development, product development and organization excellence within multiple sectors, mainly in non-profit, education, transportation, telecommunication, trade and commerce.

She delivered many projects in Saudi Arabia, including conducting job market need assessment studies, measuring the social impact of national programs, developing products for the not-for-profit sector, designing operating models within public sector entities, and operating marketing and communication strategies.

Al-Mubarak holds a bachelor’s in Electrical Engineering from Texas A&M University and a master in Public Policy and Management from the University of Glasgow. She is certified in Change Management, Design Thinking and Leading People in Organizations.

Ahmed Abzakh has a wealth of experience in strategy, investment plans, financial sustainability, product development and pricing, revenue maximization, business and financial modeling, and data analytics. Abzakh has served entities across the public and private sectors, in sectors including transportation (with a focus on sea ports and ride hailing), financial sector, special economic zones, labor market, and intellectual property.

His track record spans including building an investment masterplan for the Saudi Ports Authority, developing commercial products for multiple entities in the transportation, labor market, entertainment, and intellectual property, and developing strategies at the national and corporate levels for clients.

Abzakh holds a master’s in Construction and Engineering Management and a bachelor’s in Civil Engineering from King Fahd University of Petroleum and Minerals. He is certified in Design Thinking from MIT and Leading People in Organizations from Wharton School of Business.

Abdullah Al-Barqawi has extensive experience as a consultant delivering major projects in strategy development, product development, business development, and marketing strategy and has different experiences in strategy implementation and operations.

Throughout his career, Al-Barqawi delivered significant value to clients in the public sector, including the Ministry of Human Resources and Social Development, the Ministry of Economy and Planning, the Ministry of the Ministry of Commerce and Investment, and the Royal Commission of ALULA.

He led the delivery of key projects within the government procurement supporting entities like EXPRO, NCGR, LCGPA, and the Ministry of Finance, and also played a role in the development of many strategic communication plans for different entities.

Al-Barqawi holds a bachelor’s in Engineering Management with honors from Prince Sultan University.
