Alvarez & Marsal (A&M), a New York-headquartered management consulting firm, has established an executive office for its global transaction advisory group (TAG).

The firm has appointed three senior leaders to the executive office, which is led by Paul Aversano, managing director and leader of TAG. Paul Licursi will serve as managing director and chief operating officer, Kate Lowry will serve as chief of staff, and Vivian Leemans will serve as senior director of global operations.

The executive office is the first of its kind at A&M and marks the transaction practice’s continued geographical and headcount expansion. TAG recently surpassed 1,000 professionals across five continents and completed over 3,000 engagements for 500+ private equity clients in 2023.

The office will focus on operational scale and continued emphasis on client-centric service.

“The Global TAG Executive Office is both a product of our practice’s growth and an emblem of its strength,”

said Aversano.

“It also signifies our shared commitment to ensure a scalable infrastructure for delivering exceptional client service, with an innovative lens, amidst a complex and shifting landscape that our clients are operating in.”

Licursi brings more than 20 years of experience in finance and private equity to A&M’s Tampa office. In his new role, he will focus on finance, human capital, learning and development, technology and infrastructure, DEI, and quality risk management.

Licursi was previously chief operating officer at Grain Management and Long Ridge Equity Partners. He was also previously CFO at GE Equity.

Based in New York, Lowry will serve as chief of staff to Mr. Aversano, identifying opportunities for deeper collaboration and efficiency across TAG. She previously spent over a year as chief of staff to the chief creative officer of Verizon. Before that, Lowry spent a decade in public relations, serving as a director at Weber Shandwick and a senior account and talent resourcing manager at Edelman.

Based in Cologne, Germany, Leemans will report to Mr. Licursi and will focus on optimizing operational processes to drive efficiency and performance. She has been at A&M TAG since 2011, most recently as senior director of operations for the EMEA region. Before joining A&M, Leemans worked in KPMG’s transaction services practice.

“Despite industry-wide challenges dampening transaction volume, in sharp contrast to our competitors, Global TAG is achieving remarkable worldwide growth,”

Aversano said.

“The establishment of an Executive Office and reaching a significant milestone in our growing global base of best-in-class practitioners reinforces our investment in continuing that growth strategically and partnering with our clients from a position of unparalleled service capability.”
