West Monroe, a Chicago-based management and technology consulting firm, on Monday announced significant investment to strengthen its insurance sector practice, which was formally launched last year.

The initiative includes expanding services and enhancing assets and talent, with the goal of doubling the practice by 2025.

The firm has transferred several long-tenured partners to the insurance practice, including Trevor Jones, Kristin Irving, Brad Ptasienski, and David Crofts. West Monroe also announced the hiring of Peter McMurtrie, a 30-year industry veteran and former president of commercial insurance at Nationwide.

The consultancy, which has 2,250 employees globally, has been working with insurance carriers and brokers for over a decade – primarily providing consulting in data, analytics, and AI to portfolio companies of private equity firms.

“Doubling down in the insurance space reflects our deep industry expertise and the strong relationships we've built with our clients over the past decade," said Will Hinde, head of industry practices at West Monroe. "Clients value our hands-on approach and our dual understanding of business and technology, which allows us to provide innovative solutions that drive financial value. Our industry expertise is a key differentiator, and this continued investment is a strategic step toward our next phase of growth."

West Monroe’s insurance practice helps clients transform data to improve risk management and increase financial value; drive value through M&A; use AI to boost productivity in sales and underwriting; and optimize operations and drive sustainable growth.

Founded in 2002, West Monroe provides consulting in business operations, M&A, organization and people, customer engagement, product and experiences, and data and technology.
