The EY organization today announces the appointment of Yew-Poh Mak as EY Asia-Pacific Deputy Area Managing Partner, succeeding Harsha Basnayake as he assumes the EY Global Managing Partner – Business Administration & Risk role. In addition, Shannon Cotter has been appointed EY Asia-Pacific Strategy and Transactions (SaT) Leader, succeeding Yew-Poh Mak. Both appointments are effective 1 July 2024.

With more than 30 years of management consulting and corporate management experience, Mak was previously the EY Asia-Pacific Strategy and Transactions Leader, where he worked with clients to drive capital allocation and strategy execution. In his new role, Mak will work closely with EY Asia-Pacific Area Managing Partner Patrick Winter and Asia-Pacific Area Leadership to drive execution of the new EY Global Strategy whilst building out strategic capabilities and operational functions to achieve greater alignment, efficiencies and growth across Asia-Pacific.

Shannon Cotter, EY Asia-Pacific Strategy and Transactions (SaT) Leader

Cotter has been the Oceania SaT Leader since 2021 and will retain this role as she takes on the Asia-Pacific SaT Leadership. With more than 25 years of experience in leading and advising clients on infrastructure, franchising and service contracting projects, Cotter will be instrumental in continuing to build the capabilities of SaT in Asia-Pacific and foster greater collaboration across the various SaT businesses in the global EY organization.
