• 33% of new partners are women, increasing the overall percentage in the UK to 30%;

  • 23% of new partners are from an ethnic minority background, increasing the overall percentage in the UK to 12%;

  • This achieves gender and ethnicity partner targets a year early.

Deloitte in the UK has promoted 81 people to partner. Of the new promotions, 27 (33%) are women, increasing the total number of Deloitte’s women partners to 412 (30% of partners).

This year’s promotions include 19 new partners from ethnic minority* backgrounds, equating to 23% of the promotions. This has raised the overall figure of partners from an ethnic minority background to 12% (164 partners).

Jackie Henry, managing partner, people and purpose at Deloitte UK, commented: “I’m pleased to see that the number of women and ethnic minority partners in our firm continues to increase, which means that we have met our women and ethnic minority partner targets for 2025 a year early. It’s encouraging to see the progress made following the introduction of targeted interventions like our Future Leaders Programme, which aims to improve the representation of women and underrepresented ethnic groups at all levels of our firm. However, we fully accept that we still have more work to do to achieve our Black partner target of 3% by 2025, which currently stands at 1%. We are working hard on building our pipeline of Black partner candidates and expect to make greater progress in the coming year.

“Our commitment to making our firm an even more diverse place to work continues. We will prioritise creating an inclusive and diverse workplace where everyone has an opportunity to thrive, regardless of ethnic or socio-economic background, sexual orientation or neurodiversity. Congratulations to all our new partners and people who have been promoted this year and I wish them all the best in their careers.”

The firm’s audit and assurance business has promoted 27 new partners, alongside 18 in consulting, 27 in tax and legal, and 9 in financial advisory.

Richard Houston, senior partner and chief executive of Deloitte UK and Deloitte North South Europe (NSE), said:

“Today we celebrate and congratulate our new partners alongside all our colleagues who have also been promoted.

“Given the uncertainty in the economic and geopolitical landscape, I’m pleased that we’ve been able to continue investing in our business, with nearly a third of our people being promoted.

“The collective efforts of all our colleagues means we’re starting FY25 in a strong position to make the most of the improving economic outlook and rising business confidence."

The number of UK partners overall now stands at 1,369. Deloitte also recruited 36 new external hires at partner level in the UK during the financial year from June 2023 to the end of May 2024. Of the 36, 15 are women and seven are from an ethnic minority* background.
