Chad Salsbery has joined HKA, a risk and disputes consultancy, as a Chicago-based partner in the forensic accounting and commercial damages (FACD) practice.

Salsbery brings more than 25 years of experience advising on commercial damages, financial valuations, bankruptcy, insurance claims, government contracts, and construction claims. He has analyzed claims for lost profits, price erosion, business interruptions, lost earnings, reasonable royalties, unjust enrichment, increased costs, and diminution of business value across a range of industries.

Salsbery has provided expert testimony in court cases, arbitrations, and mediations across a variety of jurisdictions.

“Chad is well known amongst many of his new HKA colleagues from his previous legacy firm experience, and we look forward to his immediate impact and contributions to our growing FACD practice,”

said Paul Meyer, partner, joint forensic accounting & commercial damages lead, Americas, and global intellectual property lead.

Salsbery joins HKA from B. Riley Advisory Services (formerly GlassRatner), where he was a managing director. Before that, he was a managing director at Adamy Valuation, a VP at TM Financial Forensics (now HKA), and a director at Navigant (now Guidehouse).

Salsbery has a bachelor’s degree in finance from Indiana University and is a certified valuations analyst.

“I am extremely excited for the opportunity to reunite with so many of my colleagues from the past 25 years at HKA. I look forward to working with colleagues old and new to provide high-quality professional services and solve our client’s complex business issues,”

Salsbery said.

HKA’s FACD practice supports clients with fraud, forensic, and regulatory investigations for disputes in areas including breach of contract, IP, and M&A.

The consulting firm, which has over 1,000 professionals globally, recently welcomed Lydia Brown as chief financial officer.
