Barcelona – 20th February 2024 – Global professional services firm Alvarez & Marsal (A&M) has appointed Davide Arpili as a Managing Director in its Private Equity Performance Improvement (PEPI) practice.

Based in A&M’s growing Barcelona office, Mr Arpili supports private equity firms and their portfolio companies with cross-border growth, performance improvement and integration programs.

Joining from Boston Consulting Group, and with more than 25 years of professional experience, Mr Arpili has led more than 100 significant transformation, transaction and post-merger integration projects across Europe, North America, the Middle East and Africa. He has led global transformations in the industry, telecoms, insurance, fashion & luxury sectors, and driven numerous post-merger integrations for hospitals, laboratories, and retail banks.

Mr Arpili commented:

“Today’s private equity landscape is under severe pressure. The macro-economic and geo-political environment is uncertain, topline growth slower, longer retention periods for investees, past acquisitions highly priced, transaction volumes limited, fundraising outlooks challenging and the potential for AI unknown. In such an environment, funds and portfolio companies looking for resilience and rapid and deep value creation are rightly looking for performance partners. A&M’s seasoned professionals – counting on long track records across industries – aren’t afraid to ask the tough questions, act as hands-on operators on their clients’ side, and roll-up their sleeves to deliver rapid and bottom-line sustainable impact.”

Alejandro González, a Managing Director with A&M’s PEPI group in Madrid and the firm’s Co-Country Head in Spain and Portugal, said:

“Davide brings unparalleled expertise in holistic value creation for multinational companies. His capabilities strengthen our position as a value creation partner for private equity firms and their portfolio companies, as well as accelerate the growth of our corporate transformation services in Iberia. Following the opening of our Barcelona office in 2023, we are delighted to welcome such a renowned thought leader to our specialized, multidisciplinary, and cross-sector team.”

With various articles, speeches at international business forums and co-authored books, Mr Arpili has also served in senior leadership and advisory roles at McKinsey and PwC. Fluent in English, Italian and Spanish, he has a BBA and a bachelor’s degree in international business from Bocconi University (Italy) and an MBA from MIT Sloan School of Management (USA).
