Booz Allen Hamilton, a public sector-focused management and technology consultancy, has hired Brian Hale as vice president of public relations.

Based in the firm’s McLean, VA headquarters, Hale is a strategic communications leader with more than 25 years of experience working for federal law enforcement, national intelligence agencies, and private sector companies. He has expertise advising on communications, issue management, media relations, cybersecurity, and public affairs.

Hale joins Booz Allen from FTI Consulting, where he spent a year-and-a-half as a managing director in the cybersecurity practice – providing strategic counsel and crisis response communications for corporate clients.

Before that, he spent over four years with the FBI, where he was assistant director of the office of public affairs. In the role, Hale provided counsel to FBI leadership and directed communications response for national security issues.

He also previously led public affairs teams at the Office of the Director of National Intelligence and Department of the Homeland Security.

Hale began his career at ABC News, where he was a field and associate producer for 20/20 and Primetime.

He has a bachelor’s degree in political science and a master’s degree in international relations from the University of Kentucky.

“Brian’s extensive experience communicating across public and private sectors will be a tremendous asset as we further strengthen the company’s market position and engage with our most important audiences on critical issues at the intersection of mission and technology,” said Nancy Laben, EVP and leader of Booz Allen’s corporate affairs department.

Booz Allen’s strategic communications practice defense, government, and business clients create and execute communications campaigns. The practice has expertise across social marketing, change management, analytics, public affairs, and digital-first strategies.

“Building on more than a century of success, Booz Allen is at an exciting moment as the company looks to the future with vision, innovation and purpose,” said Hale. “I am looking forward to working with leaders across the business to help drive the company’s next era.”

Booz Allen earlier this summer hired former NASA executive Tom Whitmeyer as an executive advisor for its space business.
