KPMG US has appointed Peter Zalkind as managing principal of its Sacramento office, effective August 7.
Zalkind, a principal in KPMG’s health and government solutions advisory practice and management consulting lead for the Microsoft alliance, succeeds Marc Hollis, who is retiring in 2024. Hollis, a tax partner, led the 150-person Sacramento office for three years.
As Sacramento head, Zalkind will oversee the office’s strategic direction and growth, as well as development of its partners and professionals.
Zalkind has more than 30 years of consulting and technology industry experience. Prior to joining KPMG in 2018, he spent 12 years at Microsoft, holding roles including sales director for the Pacific Northwest, industry solution manager for public sector cloud, and managing consultant.
Before that, Zalkind spent three years as a senior manager at Deloitte, where he was e-government lead. He began his career at EY, latterly serving as a senior manager.
Zalkind has an MBA and a bachelor’s degree in economics from Claremont McKenna College.
