Protiviti, a global consulting firm, has appointed Danelle Barrett, a retired US Navy rear admiral, to its advisory board.

Barrett joins a diverse group of subject matter experts who support Protiviti with market and business insights. The firm in 2021 welcomed Dame Inga Beale, former CEO of Lloyd’s of London, to its advisory board.

Barrett retired from the US Navy in 2019 after a distinguished 30-year military career. In her final role as director of the US Navy Cybersecurity Division, Barrett led the Navy’s strategic development and execution of digital and cyber security efforts, enterprise IT improvements, and cloud policy and governance for 700,000 personnel.

She was also previously director of current operations at US Cyber Command and chief of staff of the Navy Information Forces Command.

“Few topics are more important today than cybersecurity and transformation. Danelle’s extraordinary experience in both will immensely benefit both Protiviti and our clients,” said Joseph Tarantino, president and CEO, Protiviti. “We are so pleased that she has agreed to join our advisory board.”

Barrett’s operational assignments included deployments in support of operations in Iraq, Afghanistan, and Haiti.

She is an independent director on the boards of Progressive Insurance, ShoulderUp, Protego Trust Bank, and Federal Home Loan Bank of New York.

Barrett holds master’s degrees in management and HR development from Webster University, a master’s degree in national strategic studies from the US Naval War College, a master’s degree in management information systems from Syracuse University, and a bachelor’s degree in history from Boston College.

“I am delighted to be joining the Protiviti Advisory Board and am looking forward to collaborating with the firm’s management, its clients and other members of the Advisory Board to share my experiences and perspectives,” said Barrett.

Protiviti provides services in business strategy and operations, performance improvement, digital transformation, technology consulting, risk and compliance, and transaction services, among other areas. The Menlo Park, CA-based firm has more than 5,000 employees across 85+ offices in over 25 countries.

It is part of Robert Half, a global staffing and consulting firm.
