Grant Thornton US has appointed Andrea Schulz as leader of its technology industry practice and Russell Norris as leader of its transportation industry practice. The mid-market accountancy also appointed new leaders for seven metropolitan markets.

Based in San Jose, Schulz has 18 years of audit experience focusing on the technology industry. She has led audits of companies undergoing transformational growth and supported firms in navigating transactions and IPOs.

Prior to joining Grant Thornton in 2021, Schulz spent 16 years at KPMG, latterly serving as a senior manager in the technology audit practice.

She has a master’s degree in accounting and a bachelor’s degree in business administration from the University of Washington, as well as a CPA certification.

Based in Charlotte, Norris is a tax partner who has been at Grant Thornton since 2005. During his time at the firm, he has completed numerous accounting, innovative consulting, and tax reporting projects for clients in transportation, distribution, and manufacturing.

Norris has a master’s degree in accounting from the University of North Carolina Wilmington and a bachelor’s degree from Wake Forest University. He is also a certified public accountant.
