Gleb Drobkov has joined Charles River Data (CRD), a Boston-based data consulting firm, as head of strategy.

Based in New York, Drobkov brings a decade of professional experience focusing on data analytics consulting. He joins CRD from Boston Consulting Group’s X practice (formerly Gamma), where he spent five years and was latterly a lead data scientist. Before that he spent two years as a project leader within the Big Three strategy firm.

Drobkov also was previously a development and delivery manager in JPMorgan Chase’s intelligent solutions division, where he spent nearly two years. Drobkov began his career at Capgemini, where he was latterly a managing data scientist.

He has an MBA as well as a bachelor’s degree in industrial and labor relations from Cornell University.

"I've known co-founder and CEO Mike Dezube since our time at Cornell, and we always dreamed of starting a company together," said Drobkov.

Dezube, a former Google senior data scientist, founded CRD in 2021. He previously spent seven years at the tech giant, serving as lead data scientist on Verily Health Platforms. Dezube has a master’s degree in systems engineering and a bachelor’s degree in operations research and information engineering from Cornell University.

CRD – which has 11 employees listed on LinkedIn – offers customized data science solutions in personalized marketing, scheduling, operations, dynamic pricing, inventory management, sales optimization, and network optimization.

Drobkov will join a leadership team that includes Dezube and Trevor Burgess, CEO of insurance firm Neptune Flood. Burgess, a former strategy consultant, invested in CRD earlier this year.
