Teneo, a global management consulting firm, has added Jason Kenney and Monique Leroux as senior advisors based in Calgary and Montreal, respectively.

Kenney brings more than 25 years of experience in federal and provincial elected office. He served as premier of Alberta from 2019 to 2022, and prior to that spent over 19 years as a federal member of parliament. During his time in Ottawa, Kenney led several ministries, including citizenship, immigration, and multiculturalism; employment and social development; and national defence.

“Jason’s vision and experience in public policy and business is well established. We are extremely pleased to welcome him to Teneo and for him to join our esteemed group of Senior Advisors,” said James Crossland, chairman and CEO of Teneo’s business in Canada.

Kenney is currently a senior advisor at law firm Bennett Jones and a senior fellow at think tank C.D. Howe Institute. He is a board director at ATCO, Coril Holdings, and Fairfax India Holdings Corporation.

“Companies in Alberta and Canada are being challenged today by seismic shifts in their operating environments,” Kenney said. “I am excited to be part of Teneo’s continued growth in Canada and look forward to working in partnership with the team and its clients.”

Leroux is an experienced corporate director who served as chair and CEO of Desjardins Group from 2008 to 2016. She was also previously chair of Investissement Quebec and served in leadership roles at RBC and Quebecor, and was an audit partner at EY.

Leroux is currently on the boards of Michelin, BCE, and Couche-Tard.

“Monique’s vast experience and credibility – not only within Québec, but across Canada and Europe – will be invaluable to our team and the CEOs we advise,” Crossland said. “We are honoured she has chosen to work with us as we continue to grow our business, both in Canada and globally.”

Leroux added, “At a time of increasing complexity for CEOs and business leaders, Teneo provides critical guidance that helps propel our country’s leading companies. I look forward to contributing to this dynamic company in Canada and around the world.”

Teneo is headquartered in New York and has more than 1,600 people across 40+ offices globally. Billing itself as “the CEO advisory firm,” Teneo provides services in strategic communications, financial and risk advisory, restructuring, digital, and talent advisory, among other areas.

The firm in 2021 hired Calin Rovinescu, former CEO of Air Canada, as a non-executive senior advisor.
