KPMG has recruited two-decade marketing expert Jadanne Dare to take over as the firm’s new head of brand & marketing strategy for Australia.

Jadanne Dare brings two decades worth of regional marketing leadership experience to her new role. She joins from cloud giant Amazon Web Services.

Appointed a director at KPMG, Dare succeeds Sudeep Gohil who held the role for nearly five years and will now concentrate solely on client work as a partner of the firm’s recently-launched Customer Advisory offering.

“We are delighted to have an executive of Jadanne’s calibre join us,” commented Amanda Hicks, national managing partner for Client Experience and Brand.

“A passionate and highly accomplished marketing strategist, she is a proven leader with decades of experience at top 100 global brands operating in Australia. Her technology background will no doubt be a huge asset as she works with our marketing function to drive future growth.”

Starting out as account manager at Sun Microsytems after completing a commerce degree with the University of Western Australia in 2000, Dare was shortly after appointed as the A/NZ regional marketing manager for AT&T, where she altogether spent four and a half years before taking on an Asia Pacific regional marketing manager role with Verizon Business. She was later appointed director of A/NZ business marketing operations at SAP.

From there, Dare spent seven years between Adobe – including as Asia Pacific campaign marketing head for Analytics Cloud – and Amazon Web Services, the latter as head of marketing for Australia and New Zealand.

Dare has been tasked with building KPMG’s multi-disciplinary brand in Australia, including through the promotion of the consultancy’s profile in key areas of growing client demand such as digital and ESG transformations.

KPMG cited Dare’s specific experience in creating go-to-market models that generate new demand and deliver revenue growth as a major factor in her appointment, in what Hicks described as an important role. “We’re focused on helping to meet our clients’ needs in an increasingly complex and challenging environment – helping them to sustainably grow through the pillars of people, technology and ESG. We’re beyond excited for what lies ahead.”

In response, Dare stated: “KPMG is an organisation committed to making a positive impact on business and society, something encapsulated by the recent ‘How you grow matters’ brand campaign. I’m excited to take on this leadership role with a high-performing marketing organisation and look forward to helping the team drive even stronger results for the firm, and in turn help KPMG to increase our impact for our clients and communities.”
