Financial advisory firm KPMG has appointed Huw Evans as its Head of Insurance in the UK, replacing Trevor Jones, who retires in April 2024 and will work closely with Evans to ensure a smooth transition.

 Karim Haji, Global and UK Head of Financial Services at KPMG, commented on the appointment, “Huw has had an notable career and we are all thrilled to have him in our team.

Before joining KPMG in January 2022 as a Partner in its insurance practice, Evans held the position of Director General at the Association of British Insurers (ABI).

During his time at the ABI, Evans represented the industry through Brexit, the government’s Solvency II proposals, pension freedoms, and the COVID-19 pandemic.

Previously, Evans served as a special adviser to Prime Minister Tony Blair and Home Secretary David Blunkett, and also spent time in the banking sector.
