Global consulting firm Alvarez & Marsal has beefed up its deals-focused due diligence offering across Europe with the hire of six senior practitioners.

Traditionally focused on the financial, tax, and operational sides of due diligence work during mergers & acquisitions, the hire of the six new experts is part of Alvarez & Marsal’s wider push into the commercial due diligence landscape.

This segment of M&A advisory work reviews deal fundamentals around market outlook, growth and value creation, and is typically dominated by strategic consultancies, with Alvarez & Marsal’s hires all coming from the likes of Bain & Company, OC&C Strategy Consultants, EY Parthenon, and Kearney.

Commenting on the firm’s continued expansion into commercial due diligence – the latest cohort lifts the number of senior hires to the practice to 15 across Europe this year – Mike Trenouth, Managing Director at Alvarez & Marsal said: “We see tremendous value for our clients in providing an integrated due diligence offering across commercial, financial, tax, and operational.”

Having all held long-term sector roles, they bring the deep industry expertise that is so crucial to realising our clients’ full strategic and commercial potential.”
