PwC has appointed three female leaders – Kristin Stubbins, Liz O’Brien and Corinne Best – to its top seats within the Assurance practice.
Kristin Stubbins has been appointed as Assurance leader. She has been a partner at PwC for 18 years and a member of the firm’s Executive Board since 2020.
Stepping up from her previous role as the Audit business leader, Stubbins brings extensive experience as an auditor and adviser across a wide variety of industries to the role.
Commenting on her new role, Stubbins said, “I’m extremely proud and fortunate to step into the role of PwC’s Assurance Managing Partner at a time when the need for that assurance has never been greater. I’m really looking forward to PwC’s Assurance business being able to help our clients see and solve for the bigger picture.”
Alongside her daily job at the Big Four firm, Stubbins is also currently a Board Member of the Group of 100 (representing PwC) and also is the Chair of Innowell, a joint venture between PwC and the University of Sydney to transform the mental health sector using technology.
Liz O’Brien meanwhile has been installed as Stubbins’s successor. The fresh Audit business leader has been a partner at PwC since 2012 and is also a member of the firm’s Executive Board. In her new role, she leads a team of over 1,600 audit professionals.
During her career she has overseen audits of multinational banks, investment banks, securities companies, fund managers and sovereign wealth funds. She also has a broad range of experience outside of statutory audits and across various industries.
“I’m incredibly proud to step into the role as PwC’s Audit leader at a time when the community, investors and our clients are looking for more trust and confidence, not just over financial reporting but areas such as sustainability, cyber and data.”
Corinne Best already was the leader of PwC’s Trust & Risk Business – she has now been re-appointed to the position. She has over 22 years of experience working across industries and geographies to enhance business performance through better management of risk, improving internal controls and adoption of digital solutions to respond to customer, market, operational and regulatory demands.
“I’m passionate about developing diverse and inclusive teams who are relentlessly focussed on building trust in our community, said Best, who also holds various community-focused roles.
