Big Four accounting and consulting firm KPMG US has welcomed nine partners and managing directors, mostly in its tax services business.
Mary Slonina (Washington, DC) joins KPMG as a managing director in the Washington national tax practice, procedures, and administration group. Slonina previously spent 11 years in PwC’s tax controversy and regulatory services team and four years as an attorney in the IRS.
Monica del Rio (Detroit) join the international tax practice as a managing director. She previously spent over 13 years in EY’s international tax practice and one-and-a-half years as an associate at PwC.
Sayantani Ghose (Stamford, CT) joins KPMG's Washington national tax economic and valuation services team as a principal. She previously spent over 15 years at EY where she focused on transfer pricing services for treasury transactions and transactions involving changes in risk assumption.
Gabrielle (Brie) Siciliano (Chicago) joins the economic and valuation services group as a managing director. Siciliano previously spent nearly 11 years at EY’s New York office, where she worked alongside Ghose on transfer pricing engagements for financial services clients.
Jessica Theilken (Dallas) joins the income tax and accounting group as a managing director. She rejoins the firm after spending two-and-a-half-years as interim CEO and president of Muskogee Medical Center Authority and Muskogee Medical Foundation. Theilken previously spent over 12 years at KPMG, focusing on engagements in corporate compliance, accounting methods consulting, and income tax provision.
David de Ruig (San Francisco) joins the Washington national tax - international tax team as a managing director. He joins KPMG from EY, where he spent three years as a senior manager of International Tax Services. Before that, de Ruig was a tax associate at Fenwick & West, Morrison & Foerster, and Bryan Cave.
Anne Stewart Sonenshine (Atlanta) joins the M&A tax practice as a managing director. Sonenshine previously spent nine years at PwC, where she was a senior manager.
Jenn Bianco (Houston) joins the global mobility services practice as a managing director. Bianco previously spent 10 years at Deloitte, where she worked in global mobility and tax. She was also previously a global mobility supervisor at BHP and an expatriate tax advisor at ExxonMobil.
Kellie Adkins (Dallas) joins the economic and valuation services practice as a managing director. Adkins rejoins KPMG after spending four years in Crowe’s business valuation practice.
KPMG US has over 40,000 people across 100+ offices in the country. It is the fourth largest accounting and consulting firm in the United States.
Two of the Big Four – Deloitte and EY – are currently examining the potential split of their accounting and consulting businesses to ease compliance pressure. A probable scenario would involve the consulting and tax businesses being spun off into a separate company in an IPO while the audit function would remain a partnership. This would lead to a tidy payout for partners, according to seniority.
