PwC has appointed Richard Siddall to lead the firm’s UK Debt and Capital Advisory (DCA) team across the North, Midlands and Scotland, taking over from John Williams who is retiring in June.

Prior to his new role, Siddall has led the big four’s regional DCA practice for the last six years.

He advises corporates looking to raise debt and capital to support growth and/or acquisitions as well as refinance existing debt facilities. He works closely with the management and shareholders of private businesses as well as local private equity.

He said that against a backdrop of market uncertainty, many sectors will feel the unwind of government support, supply chain issues and cost inflationary pressures and may require more flexible debt facilities, additional liquidity and/or working capital funding.

Siddall said: “I’m proud to be taking on the national role working alongside David Godbee and Adam Horey to build on John’s great work over recent years. We have a team with a wealth of experience across corporate lending, private equity and real estate in the UK and Europe.

“With multiple options available, and increasing complexity in terms of debt structures, companies are turning to us to help navigate these markets and raise the funding they need.”

John Williams, DCA partner at PwC, added: “It has been an absolute privilege to lead the DCA team at PwC over the last six years. We have built a team that has great coverage of the entire market, leading expertise across a range of debt products but also market leading technology that allows us to navigate those financing markets effectively for our clients.

“Richard has built an exceptional regional practice and I wish him, and the team, well on the next stage of the journey.”
