Grant Thornton has bolstered its partnership with seasoned consultant and retail industry expert Matt Darby.

Matt Darby brings around 25 years of experience in consulting to Grant Thornton, where he has been appointed a partner in the Management Consulting division with a dedicated focus on the Consumer & Retail industry vertical.

“I’m extremely excited to become a part of Grant Thornton and link up with such a talented group of retail experts,” said Darby on his arrival.

Darby joins Grant Thornton from KPMG, where he was the national sector lead for Retail in KPMG’s Management Consulting practice. Before that, he was the Retail & Products Industry Lead at Publicis Sapient, following more than 20 years at Accenture where he latterly served as the company’s Retail Industry Lead for Australia and New Zealand.

Commenting on Darby’s appointment, Jamie Downs, Partner & National Head of Management Consulting at Grant Thornton, said: “Throughout his career Matt has worked within every segment of the retail sector and the supply chain. During this time, he has worked with consumer and retail industry clients in Australia and internationally.”

“Matt is renowned for his expertise in improving capabilities for retailers across the complete value chain. He delivers tech enabled transformation programs working alongside his clients to enable the new digital and data capabilities their customers require. We know these skills are fundamental for the future of retail, which is why we are so excited by Matt’s addition to our retail business,” continued Downs.

Late 2021, Grant Thornton strengthened its Management Consulting partnership with Liz Webster.

“Our retail consulting practice continues to grow significantly and the hire of Matt brings a unique set of skills to our clients,” concluded Downs.
