Global consulting firm Alvarez & Marsal has promoted Dubai-based team member Cam Coles to Managing Director.

A member of Alvarez & Marsal's Turnaround and Restructuring practice, Coles brings more than two decades of experience in turnaround, restructuring and crisis-related interim management to the firm’s leadership ranks.

Coles has been with the management consulting firm in the UAE since early last year, when he joined as a Senior Director from EY-Parthenon (the strategy consulting wing of EY), having spent over a decade in its Turnaround and Restructuring practice.

During his time with EY, he led restructuring consulting engagements across the United Kingdom, Australia, Europe, Middle East and Asia. He has worked with clients across a range of industries, including construction, real estate, energy, retail, hospitality, conglomerates and family offices.

Coles focuses on designing and implementing rapid turnarounds, performance improvement plans and restructurings, specialising in complex stressed and distressed situations. He has extensive experience with stabilising business performance, optimising working capital, restructuring balance sheets, and redesigning strategy and operating models for long term improvement.

Earlier in his career, Coles also worked as an independent consultant (holding a number of interim turnaround roles with stressed businesses), and served both PwC and EY in Dubai, as well as Deloitte and PwC in Scotland.

Cam Coles earned a bachelor’s degree in economics from the University of Queensland, Australia. He is a qualified Chartered Accountant with the Institute of Chartered Accountants in Scotland.
