Accenture has welcomed two seasoned professionals to its Australian team: Andrew Wilson and Octavio Gomez Haro.
Both new joiners cross from a Big Four firm, with PwC veteran Andrew Wilson joining in Sydney as managing director and risk consulting lead, while Octavio Gomez Haro crosses from KPMG to become principal director within Accenture’s financial services practice. The pair bring more than four decades of combined experience to their new roles.
Graduating UNSW with a Bachelor of Commerce in accounting & finance in 1992, Andrew Wilson has amassed over 25 years of local and international assurance experience, including in external financial audits, internal controls reviews and regulatory investigations.
Across close to two decades at PwC, Wilson has served as the firm’s national asset management leaders and national risk leader.
“The future of risk management is about leveraging the power of data, analytics, smart automation and artificial intelligence to mitigate, monitor and respond to risk and leverage opportunities in real time,” Wilson stated in a LinkedIn announcement. “I am passionate about supporting clients to maximise these opportunities by combining core risk, data and technology credentials to deliver smart solutions.”
PwC has been a prominent hunting ground for Accenture in recent times, including Strategy& partners Anthony James and Peter Burns in April of last year, the latter who was elevated to CEO barely six months later. Other PwC leaders to be recently poached by Accenture include Wendy Saint Ruth and Shona Brady, along with fellow Accenture managing director Kylee Anastasi.
Octavio Gomez Haro crosses after three years at KPMG, where he served as a director and insurance sector market lead. Prior to KPMG he was strategic business development leader across banking and finance for law firm Dentons, and earlier spent a decade in business development and marketing roles between PwC and Ernst & Young.
