Baker Tilly US has acquired Orchestrate Healthcare, a West Palm Beach, FL-based healthcare IT consulting firm.

Founded in 2006, Orchestrate helps healthcare providers improve their processes and systems, particularly electronic health records (EHR). The firm delivers services across data integration and interoperability, EHR implementation and optimization, healthcare analytics, information security, and healthcare IT staffing.

Orchestrate has completed over 1,400 engagements since its founding and has worked with clients such as Penn Medicine, Temple Health, and Tampa General Hospital. The consultancy has approximately 120 employees.

Baker Tilly’s acquisition of Orchestrate will strengthen the firm’s ability to support healthcare providers seeking digital and data optimization amid heightened margin pressures and a shift to value-based care models.

“We are continuing to invest heavily in the digital space,” said Angela MacPhee, managing partner of consulting at Baker Tilly US. “With this combination, Baker Tilly can deliver a holistic approach for healthcare providers so they can administer the best patient care while controlling costs and adopting new business models.”

The deal, for which financial terms were not disclosed, is slated to complete on March 1.

“This is a powerful combination of strategic alignment and complementary solutions that will allow us to provide our clients and our team members with more across the board,” said Charlie Cook, president of Orchestrate Healthcare. “Baker Tilly has it all: a forward-thinking vision and a focus on talent.”

Baker Tilly’s acquisitions in the last six months include: The Compliance Group; The MFA Companies; Arnett Carbis Toothman; AcctTwo; and Margolin, Winer & Evens.

The Chicago-based accounting and consulting firm has more than 4,600 people across the US.
