Microsoft has promoted Tensing to the Gold band of its Data Analytics partner program.

From five offices across Europe, Netherlands-headquartered Tensing supports clients with using spatial intelligence as a means to enhance their strategic decision-making and operations.

Partnering with Microsoft, the consultancy helps its clients run geographic information systems (GIS) such as Esri and FME in the Microsoft cloud (Azure), and with using Microsoft’s cloud computing engine to deliver insights based on advanced data science and analytical solutions.

Having built an extensive track record in the Microsoft landscape over the years, and invested in its capabilities, Tensing has now been promoted within Microsoft’s partner band, from Silver to Gold. “This recognition is an important milestone on the road of guiding organisations in spatial intelligence,” said Thom Leeffers, Managing Consultant at Tensing.

Reflecting on multi-year Tensing’s journey with Microsoft, Leeffers said: “The role of spatial data is becoming increasingly important in field of insights. We were quick to recognise this need and have invested strongly in our consultancy capabilities with spatial analytics and spatial data science.”

“Our technology offerings are mainly based on Esri and FME software. While those two software platforms provide good capabilities in the field of spatial analytics and spatial data science, many organisations use other platforms. Therefore, we wanted to diversify our capabilities more, with the Azure platform gaining our trust as the platform of choice.”

Fast forward “several years” since the Microsoft venture kicked off, and Tensing has a team of certified Azure Data Science consultants, and a track record with Azure that includes helping a water management enhance its operations and sustainability footprint, and helping a municipality gain insight in the use of solar panels across its territory.

“We’re delighted to see our investments and focus rewarded with the Gold partnership,” said Leeffers.
