Makros, a cybersecurity consultancy based in Santiago, Chile, has been acquired by Deloitte Canada/Chile.
Founded in 2003, Makros provides services in perimeter security, cloud security, and identity management, among other areas. The firm has nearly 100 employees and more than 200 clients.
The deal will expand the Deloitte cybersecurity practice in Chile to approximately 250 professionals delivering end-to-end cyber consulting domestically and internationally.
“This investment will push us forward in delivering complete and innovative solutions to our clients,” said Ricardo Briggs, CEO and regional managing partner of Deloitte Chile.
Anthony Viel, CEO of Deloitte Canada, added, “Makros’ presence and reputation in Chile are exceptional and we are delighted to have the opportunity to work alongside the best.”
Deloitte Canada and Deloitte Chile operate as one entity. Deloitte Chile entered a strategic union with the Canadian firm to “strengthen the service delivered to our customers” and because they share a focus on the same industries, according to Deloitte's website.
Deloitte Chile has 2,000+ people while Deloitte Canada has 11,000+ people.
“We are very proud to join a company like Deloitte. This represents for us the opportunity to use our skills to address the challenging market of cybersecurity and to support our customers for the next digital challenges to come in all aspects of business,” said Marcelo Díaz, CEO of Makros, who will join Deloitte Chile as a partner.
Financial terms of the transaction were not disclosed.
